چکیده

Abstract Halotolerant bacteria are reported as a potential biostimulant to mitigate saline stress on various crops. The mechanism of halotolerant in elevating plant growth under is associated with their growth-promoting (PGP) traits. This study evaluated the activity single-strain phosphate-solubilizing and its consortia that were able fix nitrogen produce ACC deaminase alleviating salinity Zea mays seedlings vitro conditions. One single strain five bacterial isolates tested for seedling assay four levels (0, 60, 80, 100 mM). In showed B1 ( Vibrio alginolycticus ) all significantly increased root number at 60 mM level. Consortium B3 V. alginolyticus+Salinicola zeshunii was also improve fresh weight (by 63.3%). Moreover, inoculation consortium affected more proline soluble sugar accumulation Z. when compared uninoculated seedlings. We conclude application alginolyticus + S. potentially used improving slightly moderately areas.

Mitigation effects of non-enzymatic antioxidants in maize (Zea mays L.) plants under salinity stress

The effects of non-enzymatic antioxidative compounds such as ascorbic acid, thiamine HCl and β-carotene were investigated on salt stressed maize plants. The maize plants were sprayed with 100 mg L of ascorbic acid, thiamine or β-carotene solutions once a week, up to harvesting of plants. The treatment of NaCl was initiated 25 days after sowing by irrigating the plants with 125 mM NaCl solution....

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

Effects of Different Potassium Stress on Leaf Photosynthesis and Chlorophyll Fluorescence in Maize (Zea Mays L.) at Seedling Stage

Leaf early senescence caused by nutrition deficiency is one of the major limitation reasons in the world crop production. Potassium (K) is one of important nutrient elements in crop growth, which modifies dozens of enzyme activations and controls stomatal movement of photosynthesis. The yield and quality of maize (Zea Mays L.) have been limited due to K deficiency in plough layer soil. However,...

Effect of exogenous selenium supply on photosynthesis, Na+ accumulation and antioxidative capacity of maize (Zea mays L.) under salinity stress

The mechanism of selenium-mediated salt tolerance has not been fully clarified. This study investigated the possible role of selenium (Se) in regulating maize salt tolerance. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the role of Se (0, 1, 5 and 25 μM Na2SeO3) in photosynthesis, antioxidative capacity and ion homeostasis in maize under salinity. The results showed that Se (1 μM) relieved the...

Effects of Salinity on Water Transport of Excised Maize (Zea mays L.) Roots.

The root pressure probe was used to determine the effects of salinity on the hydraulic properties of primary roots of maize (Zea mays L. cv Halamish). Maize seedlings were grown in nutrient solutions modified by additions of NaCl and/or extra CaCl(2) so that the seedlings received one of four treatments: Control, plus 100 millimolar NaCl, plus 10 millimolar CaCl(2), plus 100 millimolar NaCl plu...
